A new project for the new year - 100 paintings on tiny canvases the size of the lovely stone tiles I see everywhere here in the South of France. The subject will be the landscape, but who knows where the road paved with these tiles will lead.

Tile 100
We shall not cease from exploration, And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time.
T. S. Eliot, LIttle Gidding, from " Four Quartets"
Ellie, I took the trip through the 100 tiles this morning. By the time I finished, I had been on the roads in the South of France. Occasionally, I thought of making a comment only to discovered that I had done so when they were first posted -- déja vu.
I read a passage this week about the changes made in the work when repeating a theme in a series of paintings whether with subject, palette or size. This is proof. C'est parfait!

I took the same trip of the tiles and enjoyed myself very much. The tiles are very beautiful. I would love to see them on one huge wall at eye level.
