Tile 52



















More than 50 tiles into this project, I am struck with the freedom gained by defining constraints. If there are no constraints, if you start from nothing, you have to re-invent everything, every time. Holding some things constant makes any evolution more fruitful. These square tiles are the Hox genes of my landscape, the productive subroutines in my program, that take away the drugery and lets you move forward without - Yes - having to re-invent everything every time. The landscape is defined. I am free to invent color, texture, free to explore more intimately than I would be able to in a traditional landscape. Austerity leading to riches... Posted by Picasa
